Wildlife SOS was enatcted in 1995 by group of wildlife lovers inspired to start a campaign and make sincere endeavor to protect and conserve India’s forest and wildlife assets. Agra bear rescue facility is locates inside Sur Sarovar Bird Santuary, keetam, Agra. There was a time when Bears were exploited by a nomadic tribe notoriously known as Kalandarsto entertain human by dancing publicly, the dancing bear trade transitioned to become entertainment for tourists & villagers who used to pay for this painful dance. A rope would then be strung through the painful piercing, and tugged to induce ‘dancing’ performances on demand; for many bears a life at the end of a rope would be all they would ever known.With cooperation from Government officials and Wildlife SOS has been able to rescue and rehabilitate many dancing bears. They are now living peacefully in four large natural sanctuaries across India, enjoying a life where they’ll never again have to endure such cruelty and pain.

Wildlife SOS specifically addresses of injured and sick Elephants that are forced to work in slums and crowded cities. Our aim is to reach out and help the elephant living in urban environments that are wounded,Malnourished and dehydrated or those being used illegally and commercially under deprived conditions. Currently they offer medical services to these needy elephants and train their handlers , ‘The mahouts’ on humane treatment and management of these gentle.
